Intermediate-Advanced Appalachian/Old Time Fiddle Class
The fiddle class is for intermediate players with 3-4 years experience playing. You will learn a variety of Southern/Old Time tunes-with a focus on learning by ear, bowing, alternate tunings, rhythm, back up (chords), and those other nuances that are typical of American Old Time style fiddling. We will also work on jamming techniques, and how to play well with others, and, of course, to have FUN!
Intermediate Clawhammer Banjo Class
This is a class is for the intermediate level clawhammer banjo player who wants a refresher with the basics of right hand rhythm (including drop thumb), help with playing melody and how to play with a fiddler in a jam. We will use a fun learn by ear approach designed to help you get the music and rhythm in your head, improve your musicality and get you playing new tunes and songs quickly, and, of course, have fun!!
Intermediate Guitar Class
This class is for guitar players who already have basic guitar skills and can play, at a moderate speed, using D, G, A and C chords in a jam. You will learn how to change chords with more ease, play bass runs and how to get more rhythm into your old time guitar playing. A focus will be on how to play better by ear, and how to accompany a fiddler and play in an old time stringband setting, and have fun with old time music!
